Private household (three students, two schools)

Every school email filed to the right student and the calendar kept for them

Two schools, a parent-communication platform, classroom summaries and a district calendar produced more email than any parent could keep up with. Now each message is filed to the right student, urgent ones reach Slack, and the calendar keeps itself.

The problem

Forty emails a week from the schools, each addressed to "families of" a grade. Which student did it concern? Which needed an answer? Deadlines were buried in PDFs, and the district calendar and religious holidays lived in different places.

What the team did

A mailbox is read through a service account. Every message is filed to a student by tag, name, school account or grade, with a rule the parent can correct once and the platform applies from then on. Anything with a deadline or an action goes to Slack as it arrives. Documents are read and their events extracted into the shared calendar, next to the district calendar and the holidays that matter to the family. Clara answers questions in Slack with the email as the source.
